Vanuatu is a playground of cultural activities, water adventures and awesome scenery offering something to do for everyone. We have compiled a list of the best activities and attractions to enable you to make the most of your trip.

Mele Cascades
The Mele Cascades Waterfall in Vanuatu is a must see while staying in or visiting Port Vila. Visitors can enjoy a 15 minute bushwalk to the waterfall while admiring the lush, tropical rainforest surroundings. At the top you can step under the fresh water waterfalls for a natural massage or enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear rock pools. This tour is recommended only for those who are relatively fit as the climb to the top of the waterfall can be steep.

The Summit Gardens
The Summit Gardens is one of the largest gardens in the South Pacific. It is located up in the hills, 20 minutes from Port Vila, and a huge number of different species of tropical flowers and trees are planted here. It is a fantastic, fragrant and colourful experience that any green-fingered tourist must not miss. As a bonus, you can also enjoy a splendid view of Mele bay and Hideaway Island.

Ekasup Village Tour
This tour is a very interesting excursion into the recent past of Vanuatu. Experience the custom, tradition and cultural values of ancient Melanesia. Arriving in the township of Ekasup, you take a 5 minute walk through the tropical forest to Ekasup Cultural Village, where you’ll be welcomed at the village entrance by the Chief, complete with native costume. This is a great opportunity to learn and experience their ancestor’s way of life in past centuries.

Blokart Vanuatu
If you like fun, speed and exhilaration, then Blokarting, or “land sailing”, is for you! It involves riding a vehicle which looks like a cross between a go kart and a wind sail. This is the ultimate activity in Vanuatu when you need some excitement in your life.

Pele Island Tour
This tour will give you the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful islands in Vanuatu – Pele Island – offering superb white sand beaches, along with magnificent swimming and snorkelling at the spectacular coral reef. It is also a chance to learn about the historical and local life of the island people, along with their way of daily living. This Island tour won the Best Tour Award in 2005.

Edge Vanuatu
EDGE Vanuatu delivers the exhilarating experience of abseiling down a waterfall at the spectacular and beautiful Mele Cascade. You begin at the 8m Practice Cliff, where they teach you the basics of abseiling beside a lovely rock pool. Once you are ready you move on to the main waterfall, which is 50m, done in two 25m abseils – the first beside the waterfall, and the last 25m in the waterfall itself. A unique and awesome adventure.

Wet N Wild Adventure Park
Wet ‘n’ Wild Vanuatu has now opened a new Adventure Park, relocating the very popular Hydro Zorbing to a longer, steeper track plus adding some exciting new activities including a Slippery Water Slide which is taking slippery slides to a new extreme, measuring 90 metres long this thrilling ride gives you an exhilarating fast speed wet and wild slide that is great fun and FREE with any other non-motorised activity booked. Enjoy the rush as you feel the G-force of being launched horizontally about 50 metres through the air in our Human Slingshot or test out your driving skills on our Go Kart dirt track. Hideaway Island Marine Reserve
The waters around Hideaway Island have been declared a marine sanctuary and are teeming with marine life and tropical fish. It is the perfect dive and snorkelling resort offering many wonderful dive sites. Be welcomed to the island by the friendly staff from Hideaway Island Resort who will explain the features of the island and the surrounding marine sanctuary.

JoJo Beach Club
JoJo Beach Club is for couples looking for a romantic escape in a stunning location close to Port Vila. It is located at Paradise Cove at the private estate of Fashion Designer, JoJo Vanuatu. During the afternoon all the facilities are for your private and exclusive use. It is your own private beach with sun lounges, pool, Jacuzzi and couples massage.

Iririki Island
Iririki Island is located in the heart of Port Vila. It is a great place to chill on weekends or holidays and a perfect place to unwind! It has 69 acres of stunning Private Island to explore. It also offers guests the opportunity to take part in lots of fun island activities.

Underwater Post Office
The Underwater Post Office in Vanuatu is the world’s only underwater post office. It is located off the coast of Hideaway Island in three metres of crystal clear water. Tourists are able to don masks, fins and snorkels or full diving gear to visit the post office, which is made from a large fibreglass water tank. The postcards are collected daily by dive masters from the island and taken onto postal services to be sent.

Club Hippique
Club Hippique is situated 10 minutes from Port Vila and offers a number of tours on horseback. They have over 500 acres of hills, rainforests and white sandy beaches to explore, with more than 50 horses and ponies, catering for beginners right through to more advance riders.

Vanuatu Cultural Centre
Vanuatu Cultural Centre is located in Port Vila. It is an organization that works to record and promote the diverse cultures of Vanuatu. Experienced staff and their fantastic tour guides are on hand to give you a personal or group tour of the Museum’s extensive collection and performances in traditional ‘kastom’ skills, such as sand-drawing, dance, bamboo flute, and story telling.

The Secret Garden
The Secret Garden is Vanuatu’s very own “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not”, an amazing outdoor cultural and educational centre and mini zoo. It offers the chance to learn about the local flora and fauna, explore thatched huts from the various islands and see iguanas, pythons and flying foxes.

Bluewater Island Resort Aquarium
The Bluewater Island Resort is located about 15km from Port Vila. It offers you the chance to get close to marine animals that you probably wouldn’t be able to in the wild. Visitors can hand-feed sea turtles in one section of the aquarium, and feed black-tipped reef sharks in another. It also offers travellers the opportunity to escape the urban hustle and bustle, and unwind in a tranquil marine environment.

Millenium Cave
The Millennium Cave tour is an action-packed, adventure-filled experience not for the faint-hearted. Millennium Cave is situated in South Central Santo, a 45 minute drive from Luganville town, followed by a 15 minute walk to the village of Funaspef, where you will meet your guide. You will then explore Vanuatu’s largest cave, scrambling over and under huge rocks and boulders, swimming in the river and then climbing the ridge back to the village. A “not to be missed” experience!

Blue Holes
Don’t miss the RiRi River Blue Holes at Matevulu and Nanda. The Blue Holes are one of the true wonders of the world and are found in Espiritu Santo. These deep, freshwater swimming holes get their name from the luminous jellybean-blue hue of the water. As well as being a popular sightseeing landmark for travellers and kayakers alike, blue holes are also home to a number of rare plants and animals.

Mount Hope Waterfall
On the Mount Hope Waterfall trip, you will experience the natural beauty of Santo in a different way. To get to the waterfall you must float, with life jackets, down a river set in a gorge with limestone walls and overhanging ferns and trees. Mount Hope Waterfall is also located between a couple of traditional villages, and a leisurely walk lets you see the natural beauty of Vanuatu up close.

SS President Coolidge
SS President Coolidge in Luganville, Espiritu Santo, is a World War II troop transport wreck. The Coolidge is not just an amazing wreck dive, but has formed a huge artificial reef boasting a wide variety of marine life for divers looking for more diverse marine species.

Port Olry Beach
If you are visiting Espiritu Santo, you have to make the effort to visit Port Olry beach. It is a stunning, white sand beach and calm, aqua blue water with small islands off the shore line and a quiet village. This is a great place to have a splash and paddle!

Santo Island Dive and Fishing
Santo Island Dive and Fishing specialises in Reef Diving, offering a variety of previously unexplored reefs and walls that will give you the opportunity to experience the huge diversity of the marine environment in Vanuatu. Vanuatu Seaplanes

Velit Bay
Velit Bay is located on the east coast of Espiritu Santo. It has beautiful beaches, snorkelling, a ‘blue hole’ for swimming and is less than half an hour’s drive from Luganville. There is also a restaurant and bar on the waterfront for daytrippers.

Aquamarine Dive Center
Aquamarine Dive Center is the only waterfront dive shop in Santo with its own private harbour – perfect for boat dive departures and diver training. It has highly trained and qualified guides, and will tailor a dive to suit your standard.

Moyyan Day Spa
Moyyan House by the Sea is nestled along a shoreline of white sand, among sheltered tropical waters and ancient shade trees in Luganville, Santo. Moyyan’s beautiful Day Spa, set amongst lush garden, offers a range of world-class treatments from specially trained staff using the pure, active botanicals of Waterlily skin care products, to ensure an uncompromised spa journey.

Million Dollar Point
Million Dollar Point, located in Luganville, Espiritu Santo, is a must-see dive site where the American Forces dumped all of their equipment and supplies at the end of WWII. This has transformed into an amazing tropical reef, which is home to a multitude of sea life. The easy access and crystal clear water makes this an experience not to be missed.

Cave Kava Bar and Coconut Crab Sanctuary
Situated in Luganville, Santo, Cave Kava Bar and Coconut Crab Sanctuary lets you try the local drink “kava” (a popular drink in Vanuatu) while also exploring a grotto inhabited by massive coconut crabs. The appeal is not in the taste of the kava, but rather in the experience and the effect!

Mount Yasur
Mount Yasur is an active volcano on Tanna Island that has been erupting continuously for centuries. It is known for its spectacular, persistent Strombolian activity that consists of regular, small to violent explosions from one or several vents. It fairly easily reached, being only 360 metres to its summit, and can usually be approached safely. The volcano is under the control of the Volcano guides, who help visitors gain safe positions along the crater rim to view the spectacular performances.

Mystery Island
Mystery Island is a tiny islet at the southernmost end of the Vanuatu archipelago, less than a kilometre from Aneityum Island. The waters are calm and ideal for swimming. It only takes about 20 minutes to walk around the sandy shore. The marine life close to land is dazzlingly beautiful, and there’s an array of colourful flora.

Yakel Custom Village
Yakel Village can be found on Tanna Island, and is the one true custom tour where the villagers live a traditional lifestyle from day to day and western ways are discouraged. It is a small village that provides visitors with the opportunity to experience traditional Ni-Vanuatu culture. On arrival to the village you are greeted by a village leader who is the only one that speaks English and you are also given a warm welcome by the villagers themselves.

Blue Hole Number Two
This is a great place to experience snorkelling amongst beautiful and huge corals, and an abundance of fish. Blue Hole Number Two can be found in front of Rocky Ridge Bungalows, Tanna Island. Visiting here requires some care as the coral can be sharp, and you need to walk across rocks and coral to get to it. Reef shoes are recommended.

Siviri Cave
Siviri Cave is at Siviri Village, close to Port Vila. It is one of Vanuatu’s natural highlights and has been a critical fresh water source for the locals in Vanuatu during drought and war years. Paddle through the cave on a single or double kayak and explore the darker areas with a hand held torch operated by your tour guide. Well worth the experience.

Lenuanatuaiu Waterfall
Lenuanatuaiu is one of the iconic waterfalls of Tanna Island, and has been a must see for travellers for many years. The path to and from is quite challenging and pretty steep, but the spectacular waterfall makes the effort worthwhile.

Louniel Beach
Louniel Beach can be found in Tanna, Vanuatu. It a surf beach, ideally placed at the centre of the long stretch of beaches located on the northern sweep of the north-eastern side of the island. It is a 15 minute trek from Louniel village, a tiny retreat in the rainforest. Visitors can view the entire length of the beach from an escarpment immediately above it. The view is breathtaking, with Mt Yasur volcano smoking in the background.
